EcoAgriFood project is carried out by the Centre of Molecular and Environmental Biology (CBMA, portuguese acronym).
Created in 2008, CBMA is a Research and Development (R&D) centre hosted at the School of Sciences of the University of Minho.
The mission of CBMA is to promote high quality Research, Advanced Education and Training in Biological Sciences, based on Biosustainability and through activities that support the development of Science and Technology at the regional, national and international levels.
CBMA develops cutting-edge research through a problem-oriented approach, enabling breakthrough innovations, new tools and strategies with impact in the environmental, biotechnology, health, agri-food and industrial sectors.
The organisation of the CBMA’s Research Groups reflects their scientific expertise and approaches towards different perspectives on biodiversity, according to the following:
- SUSTAINING LIFE Research Group: Biodiversity and Functional Ecology.
- BASICS OF LIFE Research Group: Cellular Responses to Environmental Stress.
- INNOVATION FOR LIFE Research Group: Functional Genomics and Nanobiotechnology for Sustainable Living.
